Job summary

Jovie is seeking reliable individuals to join its on-call nanny team in the Encinitas area. The role focuses on in-home care for infants through toddlers, with a flexible schedule that works around school or family commitments.

As a back-up nanny, you will be paid hourly, receive paid training, and have opportunities to progress with families seeking consistent arrangements, whether full or part-time. W-2 employment with benefits is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, paid or unpaid, infant experience mandatory.
• Reliable transportation is required.
• Willingness and ability to travel to various homes in the area.
• Availability for 3+ weekdays, 6–8 hour shifts between 7 am and 7 pm.

Responsibilities

• Care for children in-home without requiring transport of children.
• Minimal household duties beyond routine cleanup with the child.
• Support families needing care for children from infants to toddlers, with emphasis on under age 2.
• Engage children safely and lead age-appropriate, hands-on activities.

As a Back-up Nanny, You Will

• Care for children in-home, but you will not be required to transport children
• No household duties other than common sense clean-up of your activities or meals with the child
• Support families who need care for children ranging from infants through toddlers. Highest demand for care for children under the age of 2!
• Engage children by providing safety and leading hands-on activities based on your observations of the children’s age-appropriate development

We Provide

• Pay: $18 per hour - $21.50 per hour per hour
• Receive paid training and a nanny kit filled with age-appropriate activities and games that you will bring to childcare assignments

About You

• At least 18 years old
• Experience working with children, paid or unpaid, infant experience mandatory
• Reliable transportation
• Your willingness and ability to travel to various homes throughout the area
• You are available any 3 or more weekdays for 6 - 8 hour shifts between 7 am and 7 pm
• Commitment to be communicative and responsive to the staffing supervisor and a bright smile to greet each family!
