Job summary

Excelsior Ambulance Service in Charleston, SC is seeking a Paramedic for a full-time role. You will provide emergency medical care under the supervision of the Division Manager and act as team leader on scenes, operating defibrillators, EKG monitors, oxygen, suction, and IV fluids to deliver advanced patient care.

Requirements include a State Paramedic License, State Driver’s License, and completion of BLS/PALS/ACLS/NREMT-Paramedic certifications.

Qualifications

At least 20 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
State Paramedic License
State Driver’s License
BLS, PALS, ACLS, NREMT-Paramedic (SC & AL)
Driving record in compliance with company policy
Pass Physical Agility Test
Some work experience, preferably in healthcare

Responsibilities

Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
Utilize Paramedic skills on medical equipment including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction devices, and IV fluids to provide advanced medical care.
Document patient information, condition and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
Act as Paramedic team leader and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
Drive the ambulance on emergency responses.
Work collaboratively with allied health and public safety personnel and your fellow Paramedics.
