Job summary

Excelsior Ambulance Service Inc. is seeking a Paramedic for a full-time position in the Birmingham area. You will provide emergency medical care under Division Manager guidance and lead on-scene operations during ambulance responses.

The role requires current state Paramedic license, valid driver’s license, and relevant certifications (BLS, PALS, ACLS, NREMT-Paramedic). Competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• State Paramedic License required.
• State Driver’s License required.
• BLS, PALS, ACLS, NREMT-Paramedic (SC & AL) certifications required.
• Driving record in good standing.
• Pass Physical Agility Test.
• Healthcare experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call to determine best course of action with progressive Paramedic protocols.
• Use Paramedic skills on equipment (defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen, suction) and IV therapy to provide advanced care.
• Document patient information, condition, and treatment with confidentiality.
• Communicate with patients and families to provide information and reassurance.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and manage scene and unit as needed.
• Drive ambulance on emergency responses.
• Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel.
