Job summary

Excelsior Ambulance Service Inc. in Sylvania, GA seeks a Paramedic to join as a full-time professional in a high-demand EMS environment.

The Paramedic will provide emergency medical care according to state laws and company policies, lead scenes when required, and operate ambulances during urgent responses. Position requires state paramedic licensure, driver’s license, and ongoing certification upkeep (BLS, PALS, ACLS, NREMT-Paramedic).

Qualifications

• At least 20 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• State Paramedic License required.
• State Driver’s License required.
• BLS, PALS, ACLS, NREMT-Paramedic (SC & AL) certifications recommended.
• Driving record must comply with company policy.
• Pass Physical Agility Test.
• Some work experience, preferably in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while following Paramedic protocols.
• Utilize Paramedic skills on medical equipment including defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction devices, and IV fluids to provide advanced care.
• Document patient information, condition and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
• Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and reassurance that care is being given.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and manage scene and unit as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on emergency responses.
• Work collaboratively with allied health and public safety personnel.
