Job summary

Oak Street Health in High Point, NC seeks a Medical Assistant to join our care team. You will collect patient data, take vitals, assist with diagnostics and immunizations, and support clinical decision-making. The role emphasizes accurate record keeping and collaborative patient care.

Responsibilities include managing patient flow, stocking rooms, and updating EMR, with opportunities to grow through expanded clinical duties and strong patient relationships.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of MA experience in a primary care setting.
• Active CPR or BLS Certification required.
• Hands-on patient vitals, diagnostic testing, and immunizations.
• EMR experience required.
• Ability to navigate multiple computer programs (Gmail, Word/Docs, Excel).
• Must be able to sit/stand for 6–7 hours and lift up to 20 pounds.
• US work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow; room patients and record vital signs.
• Stock exam rooms and manage inventory.
• Provide telephonic support for patient requests (lab results, records).
• Administer vaccinations and point-of-care tests as allowed by state regulations.
• Update EMR and scan/upload documents.
• Participate in daily care team meetings to discuss patient care and clinic operations.
• Process orders for durable medical equipment with clinical leadership.
• Request medical records from external providers when needed.
• Perform quality control checks (infection control, equipment, supplies).
• Support other duties as assigned.
