Job summary

CommonSail Investment Group is seeking a full-time Cook to prepare meals for residents, guests, and staff. You will follow planned menus and standard recipes, plate dishes with attention to portions and garnishes, and support a collaborative kitchen team in a healthcare-focused setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or technical training, at least three years of line cook experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

High School diploma (or equivalent) or technical school.
A minimum of three years of line cook experience and/or training.
Good communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

Cook and prepare food for residents, guests, and employees.
Prepare food according to the planned menu using standard recipes.
Plate food items following portion guidelines and garnishing instructions.
Assist other kitchen staff as needed. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Ensure sufficient food is prepped and/or prepared.
Communicate with supervisor of shortages or outages.
Ensure freshness, cooking status, and proper seasoning of all foods served.
Stock and clean station for next shift.
Follow proper food rotation policies.
Maintain a positive attitude supporting a team environment.
Promote positive public relations with residents, family members, and guests.
Be knowledgeable of resident rights and ensure a safe, dignified environment.
Maintain safety including sanitation and security.
Clean and inspect kitchen appliances and work areas.
Present professional appearance by wearing uniform and name tag.
