Job summary

CommonSail Investment Group is seeking a full-time Cook to prepare meals for residents and guests according to menus, recipes and events. You will work in a resident-focused kitchen with attention to portioning, plating, sanitation, and teamwork.

Shifts are 6am-2pm and 11am-7pm. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, at least three years line cook experience, and strong communication skills. We offer comprehensive benefits and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma (or equivalent) or technical school required.
• Minimum of three years of line cook experience and/or training.
• Good communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare food for residents, guests, and employees.
• Prepare food according to planned menu using standard recipes.
• Plate food items following portion guidelines and garnishing instructions.
• Assist other kitchen staff as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
• Ensure sufficient food is prepped and/or prepared.
• Communicate shortages or outages to supervisor.
• Ensure freshness, cooking status, and proper seasoning of all foods served.
• Stock and clean station for next shift.
• Follow proper food rotation policies.
• Maintain positive attitude supporting a team environment.
• Promote positive relations with residents, family members, and guests.
• Maintain safety including universal precautions and sanitation; follow fire/safety plans.
