Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3+ years of professional infant-care experience with references.

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive, loving, developmentally appropriate care for an infant.
• Handle feeding, diapering, soothing, bathing and age-appropriate engagement.
• Follow family feeding, sleep and care practices and communicate observations clearly.
• Keep baby areas clean, organized and well maintained; wash baby laundry.
• Wash bottles, baby-related dishes and rotate clothing as the child grows.
• Assist with groceries and maintain a tidy, organized environment.
• Outings will be stroller walks and age-appropriate activities; very limited driving initially.

• Baby generally eats on demand, typically around every three hours.
• She is a good daytime napper, is not particularly fussy at night and is becoming increasingly engaged during her awake time.
• She enjoys bath time and is an active, wiggly baby.

• This is a first-time parent household with two working professionals who value organization, consistency, reliability and clear communication.
• Mom is currently on maternity leave through January and would like to overlap with the nanny beginning in December. Both parents typically work from an office but have some flexibility to work from home when needed.

Key Responsibilities

A day in the life...

Standard Duties:

• Provide attentive, loving and developmentally appropriate care for the infant.
• Handle all infant-related responsibilities, including feeding, bottle preparation, diapering, soothing, bathing, maintaining routines and age-appropriate engagement.
• Follow the family's preferred feeding, sleep and care practices and communicate observations clearly with the parents.
• Keep baby areas and belongings clean, organized and well maintained.
• Wash and organize baby laundry.
• Wash bottles and baby-related dishes.
• Empty and maintain the diaper genie.
• Rotate and organize baby clothing as the child grows out of items.
• Help put away delivered groceries as needed.
• Maintain a tidy and organized environment throughout the day.
• Outings will primarily involve stroller walks and age-appropriate activities as the baby gets older.
• Driving will be very minimal initially, with opportunities for outings expanding as the baby grows.
• Fill the cats' food and water bowls as needed.

Travel Requirements:

• No travel is required for this position, but the family would love someone who is open to it occasionally, and with advanced notice.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualifications…

• At least 2 years of professional infant-care experience is required.
• The ideal candidate will be curious, adaptable and genuinely interested in learning.
• The family would favor someone who is well educated and intellectually curious, although a college degree is not required.
• An educational background is not necessary; however, a strong learning mindset and willingness to understand evidence-based approaches are important.
• Strong spoken and written English skills are required.
• Bilingual candidates are welcome. A second language other than Spanish would be especially interesting to the family.
• Candidates should be highly organized, reliable, punctual and consistent.
• The family is looking for someone who communicates clearly, follows through on responsibilities and is comfortable working within established routines and parental preferences.
• Candidates should be comfortable working in a professional household with parents who may be working from home.

Compensation and Benefits

Rate of Pay (gross):

• The family is offering $30-$40/hour (gross). Based on the guaranteed hours, this equates to an annualized compensation of $62,400 - $83,200 per year (gross).
