Job summary

Interlochen Center for the Arts is seeking an entry-level Hotel Housekeeper to help maintain guest rooms, common areas, and rental spaces on our campus. This role supports a welcoming atmosphere for guests and staff, working in coordination with the Hospitality/Retail and Operations divisions.

You will perform cleaning tasks, report maintenance issues, and follow ICA policies while upholding high standards of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Ability to determine space access to perform cleaning tasks.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates respect for cultural, ethnic, spiritual, and linguistic diversity.
  • Ability to follow and execute specific verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to maintain ICA’s high cleanliness standards.
  • Prior housekeeping experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain guest rooms, common areas, and facilities, including flooring and fixtures.
  • Remove trash and debris to ensure cleanliness and sanitation across the campus.
  • Report maintenance issues and place work orders for necessary repairs.
  • Perform deep-cleaning tasks and special cleaning assignments as needed.
  • Ensure rental spaces and hotel accommodations meet cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Support the overall beauty and welcoming atmosphere of the campus by maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Follow ICA policies and procedures while maintaining efficiency and effectiveness in housekeeping tasks.
  • Respect and uphold the cultural diversity of staff and guests.
  • Prioritize tasks to align with organizational goals and guest satisfaction.

The Hotel Housekeeper plays an important role in maintaining the beauty and cleanliness of Interlochen’s campus, ensuring that all guests and visitors experience a welcoming and comfortable environment. This position is responsible for keeping guest rooms, common areas, and rental spaces clean and well-maintained, contributing to the overall atmosphere of our vibrant arts community. Housekeepers work both independently and as part of a team, depending on the needs of the business, and help make Interlochen a place that feels like home for everyone who visits.

  • Ability to assess when to return to complete tasks if regularly scheduled space is unavailable.
  • Ability to ensure cleaning results meet ICA’s demonstrated standards.
  • Ability to follow and execute specific verbal and written instructions.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
