Job summary

UPMC Harrisburg is hiring a Full-time Hot Cook. The role requires working from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm or 5:00 pm to 1:30 am, preparing high-quality hot foods and ensuring nutritional standards.

You will observe safe food handling procedures and maintain a clean, sanitation-focused workspace. Responsibilities include advanced prep for the next day, producing foods per recipes and production sheets, monitoring usage, and maintaining temperature logs while delivering courteous service to guests.

Qualifications

• Experience with hot foods and production
• Strict adherence to safe food handling and sanitation
• Able to work 2pm–10:30pm or 5pm–1:30am shifts
• Provide courteous customer service daily

Responsibilities

• Complete in-advance preparation for the next day
• Produce hot foods per recipes and production sheets
• Prepare foods within designated timeframes and monitor usage
• Adhere to safe food handling procedures at all times
• Maintain an inspection-ready work area
• Follow SDS guidelines and store chemicals away from food areas
• Operate and maintain equipment per guidelines and safety rules
• Provide courteous, helpful customer service daily
• Chill, store, and log all prepared and leftover foods per health guidelines
