UPMC Passavant in Pittsburgh's McCandless location is hiring a Full-Time Grill Hot-Cook to support our Dietary department. Salary will be determined based on experience.

The role offers early morning shifts with a 40-hour work week and rotating weekends in a hospital setting. You will prepare hot foods per standardized recipes, monitor portions, maintain safe handling procedures, and keep an orderly, inspection-ready work area.

Qualifications

• Must follow standardized recipes and production sheet volumes.
• Maintain food safety and sanitation throughout service.
• Prepare foods within designated timeframes.
• Chill, store and log prepared/leftover foods per health guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Complete in-advance preparation for next day of service.

• Prepare all foods within designated timeframes; monitor usage to meet volume.
• Maintain an inspection-ready work area and follow SDS safety rules.

ANCC Magnet designated UPMC Passavant is currently hiring a Full-Time Grill Hot-Cook to support our Dietary department at the McCandless location. Salary will be determined based experience. Candidates with prior experience are highly preferred and encouraged to apply.

Hours

Our Full-Time Hot Cooks typically work 40 hours each week between the hours of 5AM-8:30PM. Rotating weekends required.

Responsibilities

• Complete in-advance preparation requirement for next day of service.
• Produce high quality hot food products according to standardized recipes and production sheet volume requirements.
• Prepare all foods within designated timeframes; monitor food usage throughout service to ensure volume needs are met.
• Adhere to departmental safe food handling procedures at all times.
• Maintain an inspection-ready work area on a consistent basis.
• Adhere to Safety Data Sheet (SDS) information related to the proper and safe use of chemicals in the workplace. Store chemicals and cleaning supplies away from food production areas.
• Uses and maintains equipment according to manufacturer and department guidelines; follows all safety procedures.
• Provide a courteous and helpful customer service attitude on a daily basis.
• Chill, store, and record all prepared and leftover food in accordance to health department guidelines; maintain temperature cooling log documentation.
