Job summary

Vanguard College Prep is seeking full-time educators to teach English and support college readiness. You will deliver targeted instruction, monitor student growth, and maintain organized schedules while modeling professional behavior.

The role emphasizes developing customized lesson plans, engaging students, and guiding them through the college application journey with empathy and dedication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in humanities (US schools) with Master’s preferred.
• Teaching English or college-level Writing Center experience (1+ years).
• Demonstrated academic excellence (3.5+ GPA).
• Strong verbal skills and mastery of English.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites.
• Reliable internet connection and quiet workspace.
• Hours of Operations provided: Mon & Fri closed; Tue–Thu 1:30 pm–9:30 pm CST; Sat–Sun 9:30 am–5:30 pm CST.

Responsibilities

• Teach and Inspire: instruct small groups in English core skills for college readiness exams (ACT & SAT).
• Track Growth: monitor student progress through Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum.
• Manage and Model: maintain lesson schedules, assign accountability, and communicate professionally.
• Innovate: develop evolving lesson plans and curriculum.
• Mentor: support middle and high school students through the college application process.
