Job summary

Excelsior Ambulance Service Inc in Augusta, GA is seeking a full-time EMT to join the Operations team. Under the Division Manager, you will provide emergency medical care to the sick and injured in accordance with laws, regulations, and service policies.

Responsibilities include on-scene assessment, use of defibrillators and monitoring equipment, patient documentation, patient communication, EMS team collaboration, and ambulance operation during emergencies.

Qualifications

• At least 20 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• State EMT/EMT-I/AEMT license.
• State Driver’s License.
• BLS, NREMT (SC & AL).
• Driving record in compliance with company policy.
• Pass Physical Agility Test.
• Some work experience, preferably in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call situation to determine the best course of action while working with progressive Paramedic protocols.
• Utilize EMT skills on medical equipment and procedures including defibrillator, patient monitoring equipment, oxygen and suction devices, and medical interventions to provide quality patient care.
• Document patient information, condition and treatment while maintaining confidentiality and patient rights.
• Communicate with patients and loved ones to provide information and assurance that care is being given.
• Act as an EMS team member and take responsibility for the scene and unit management as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on emergency responses.
• Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow Paramedics.
