Job summary

Qualifications

• High School / GED required.
• Current Virginia State EMT Certification and/or National Registry required.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• One (1) year EMT, military corpsman or clinical related experience preferred.
• AHA ACLS, PALS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists nurses and medical staff with patient care procedures.
• Performs phlebotomy and venipuncture with proper labeling/transporting of specimens.
• Operates hospital information systems for clerical duties and coordination.
• Communicates patient and family requests to appropriate personnel.
• Maintains a safe and orderly environment and coordinates equipment/supply needs.
• Facilitates communication between diagnostic/testing area, patient care area and families.
