Job summary

Qualifications

• High School or GED required and Virginia Paramedic Certification and/or National Registry.
• CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications required.
• Must maintain licensure and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care under supervision of the Nurse Manager or Team Leader.
• Administers treatments and procedures (within scope) as ordered by physician.
• Performs venipuncture and starts IVs.
• Obtains vital signs with frequency based on patient acuity.
• Performs 12-lead EKG and monitors cardiac status as directed.
• Collaborates with Emergency Services and physicians; accurate documentation.
• Demonstrates competence in medication management and patient safety.
• Performs other duties within scope of practice as needed.
