Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare is seeking a clinical support professional to assist nurses and staff in the Care Center. You will collect patient data, draw blood, start IVs, perform venipuncture, and help with sterile procedures while maintaining patient comfort and safety.

The role requires Virginia EMT certification or National Registry, BLS CPR at hire, and flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed. Physical demands include lifting, standing, and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School / GED or equivalent is required.
• Current Virginia EMT Certification and/or National Registry required.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire.
• One year EMT or clinical-related experience preferred.
• AHA ACLS, PALS certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and technical support to nurses and staff.
• Assist with patient data collection, specimens, and designated care procedures.
• Support infection control and performance improvement efforts.
• Maintain effective communication and documentation within hospital systems.
• Serve as a communications liaison among departments and families.
• Perform phlebotomy, venipuncture, and basic blood collection labeling/transport.
• Set up sterile trays and assist with suturing or sterile procedures.
• Assist with IV placement and Foley catheter insertion when appropriate.
