Job summary

Orchard Park Assisted Living in Lincoln, Nebraska is seeking a dedicated Medication Aide to ensure residents receive prescribed medications safely. The role involves preparing and administering medications, keeping accurate records, and collaborating with nurses and physicians to support resident well-being.

This full-time position offers a starting base pay of $18.00 per hour, weekend differentials, and benefits including paid time off, dental and vision insurance, and retirement plan

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Medication Aide (CMA) certification required.
• Experience in an assisted living or long-term care setting is preferred but not required.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow medication protocols.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and administer medications following prescribed orders and the 5 rights.
• Maintain accurate medication records and communicate with nursing staff.
• Monitor residents for adverse reactions and report concerns promptly.
• Conduct narcotic counts with a supervisor and document discrepancies.
• Ensure proper storage and handling of medications and dispose of sharps per guidelines.
• Assist with opening and closing duties and respond to call lights.
