Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Medical Assistant for Medical Oncology at the Lake Forest Hospital Cancer Center. This full-time position offers 40 hours per week and a schedule from 7:30am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday, with occasional travel to the Glenview clinic.

You will support physicians and nurses, help manage patient flow, assist with procedures, and handle administrative tasks to ensure efficient, safe patient care and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current certification in MA or eligibility for CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA with onboarding within 6 months.
• American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification.
• 0–2 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Assures efficient patient flow through the site: escorting to exam room, obtaining identifiers, vital signs and documenting visit reasons.
• Assist practitioner with ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, and CLIA-waived testing as directed.
• Prepare and stock exam rooms, maintain inventory, disinfect and sterilize equipment, and support environmental safety.
• Interact with patients and care team to promote satisfaction and confidentiality.
• Perform delegated procedures per specialty addendum and assist with other duties as assigned.
