Job summary

Detroit Medical Center is seeking a Cardiac Sonographer for a role based in Commerce Township, Michigan. The position is 40 hours per week with an 8-hour shift and is classified as Staff.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in cardiovascular or applied sciences, or equivalent.
• Six months experience in Echocardiography, Phonocardiography or equivalent related experience preferred.
• Registered or registry-eligible as a RDCS from ARDMS or an RCS from CCI; ARDMS preferred. Registry-eligible must be registered within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostic evaluations including Stress Echo, Dobutamine and 2-D Echo with Doppler and Color Flow.
• Assists with Transesophageal Echocardiograms under supervision.
• Analyzes and interprets test results and determines if additional tests are required for diagnostic accuracy.
• Performs qualitative and quantitative real-time 2-D Echocardiograms with Doppler and Color Flow, Stress Echos, Dobutamine, and assists with Transesophageal Echocardiograms.
• Operates and maintains testing equipment, instruments and supplies.
• Participates in Quality Improvement program and maintains professional knowledge base.

Education

Associate’s degree in cardiovascular or applied sciences, or equivalent

Six months experience in Echocardiography, Phonocardiography or equivalent related experience

Registered or registry-eligible as a RDCS or RCS (ARDMS preferred, CCR)
