Job summary
Detroit Medical Center is seeking a part-time Cardiovascular Sonographer to perform non-invasive cardiovascular evaluations, including stress echo and Doppler studies, and to assist with transesophageal procedures under physician supervision. The role requires an associate degree in cardiovascular sciences, with RDCS/RCS certification preferred or registry-eligible with 12 months to obtain certification.
Duties include equipment operation, data entry, and participation in quality improvement
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in cardiovascular or applied sciences and familiarity with cardiovascular testing.
- Six months experience in Echocardiography or related field preferred.
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) certification; registry-eligible must become registered within 12 months.
Responsibilities
- Perform non-invasive cardiovascular diagnostic evaluations (e.g., Echo with Doppler, Color Flow).
- Assist with Transesophageal Echocardiograms under physician supervision.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment and supplies.
- Enter preliminary report information into hospital system after physician dictation.
- Participate in quality improvement activities and training of staff.
