Job summary

Family Dollar in Farmington Hills, Michigan is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development. You will assist with daily tasks, organize merchandise, and help ensure the store runs smoothly.

Responsibilities include opening/closing procedures, payroll and scheduling, maintaining displays, and protecting company assets while enforcing policies. You will train and develop Store Associates and foster a safe, friendly environment for customers

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Retail store management experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.
• Strong communication and organizational skills required.
• Ability to train and develop Store Associates.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process corporate directives and store communications.
• Maintain promotional displays and storefront fixtures.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, payroll/scheduling, cash deposits and loss prevention.
• Maintain a well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines and ensure staff compliance.
• Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment with customers and staff.
• Maintain store cleanliness including restrooms, floors, and trash removal.
