Job summary

New York Technology Partners is seeking a Full Stack Production Software Engineer to own production incident response and application reliability across the tech stack. You will diagnose complex issues spanning frontend, backend, databases, cloud infrastructure, and third-party integrations while driving long-term improvements to system reliability.

You will contribute code to frontend and backend apps, build observability, and develop runbooks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with PHP and Laravel.
• Experience troubleshooting production systems in cloud environments.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, relational databases, and distributed systems.
• Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
• Comfortable working in Linux environments.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and systems-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to work effectively under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary engineering responder for production incidents and escalations.
• Troubleshoot issues across frontend, backend, databases, cloud infra, and integrations.
• Diagnose incidents, restore service, identify root causes, and implement permanent solutions.
• Collaborate with engineering, infra, QA, and support to resolve customer-impacting issues.
• Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective actions for recurring problems.
• Improve application performance, stability, scalability, and resilience.
• Develop monitoring, dashboards, alerts, and observability tooling.
• Build internal tools and automation to boost operational efficiency.
• Create runbooks and postmortem action items.
• Contribute code to frontend and backend apps as needed.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident reviews.
