Job summary

Everforth Apex Systems is seeking a Java Full Stack Developer to join our Charlotte, NC area team, with multiple U.S. locations. The role focuses on migrating contact center platforms to cloud-based architectures using Java, Spring Boot, React, Kafka, and OpenShift.

You will design, build, and deploy scalable software, lead middleware work, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on AI-enabled solutions and integrated platforms.

Job Title: Java Full Stack Developer

Location: Charlotte, NC (CIC) / Chandler, AZ / Irving, TX

Contract Length: 18 Months (Potential Extension or Conversion)

Pay Rate: $69/hr - $74/hr

Job Summary

This role supports the Contact Center Technology organization, contributing to a major migration of contact center platforms from on-premise solutions to modern cloud-based architectures. The engineer will design, build, and deploy software solutions that bridge functionality gaps between enterprise platforms, develop middleware services, and support ongoing modernization initiatives. The position requires a full-stack engineer with expertise in Java, Spring Boot, React, Kafka, cloud-native development, and OpenShift. The engineer will play a role in engineering design, application development, system integrations, and AI-driven solutions while collaborating across business and technology teams to deliver scalable software.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, React, and Microservices.
• Build middleware services and integrations supporting contact center platform modernization.
• Develop APIs and event-driven solutions utilizing Kafka and cloud-native technologies.
• Participate in cloud migration initiatives and deployment of applications within OpenShift (OCP) environments.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and engineering teams to deliver business requirements.
• Support integrations with platforms such as Workday, Verint, and other workforce management solutions.
• Contribute to AI initiatives including LLM integrations, GenAI solutions, and agent development.
• Review architecture and technical designs to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Provide technical leadership and serve as a peer mentor.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, or education.
• 5-7 years of Java development experience.
• Experience with Spring Boot, React, and Microservices.
• Experience with Kafka, cloud-based deployments, and OpenShift (OCP).
• Familiarity with designing and developing modern enterprise applications in cloud environments.
• Experience with GenAI/LLM integrations and agent development (Agentic AI).

Preferred Qualifications

• Contact Center Technology development experience.
• Experience creating AI agents, prompt engineering, or LLM-enabled applications.
• Experience with Workforce Management, Quality Management, Recording, or Performance Management platforms.
• Experience integrating enterprise systems such as Workday or Verint.
