Job summary

DoorDash is seeking a full stack engineer for the Experimentation Platform Team to build across backend services, SDKs, and the Decision Portal UI used by thousands of internal users. You will report to the engineering manager on the Decision Experience team as part of the Decision Systems group.

You will work in a hybrid setup (SF, Sunnyvale, Seattle, NY) with in-office and remote time, tackling high-volume, correctness-focused engineering challenges and cutting-edge experimentation features.

Qualifications

• BS, MS, or PhD in CS or equivalent.
• 2+ years of industry experience building web apps end-to-end.
• Strong CS fundamentals and OOP knowledge.
• REST/gRPC design and backend API experience.
• Database systems and storage layer choices.
• Backend experience with Java, Kotlin, Python, or Go.
• Experience with testing across frontend and backend.
• Product-minded approach to platform services and user-facing tools.
• Proficiency with AI coding tools across the full SDLC.

Responsibilities

• Work on dramatically enhancing the Experimentation platform used by almost every engineer in the company.
• Opportunity to build a new Experimentation platform from the ground up and influence system design and product experience.
• Own features end-to-end, from APIs and data models to the React UI in the Decision Portal.
• Collaborate with Product Engineers, Data Analysts, Data Scientists, ML Engineers and Data Infrastructure engineers on workflows, data discovery, integrations and visualizations.
• Introduce cutting-edge technologies, including LLM-powered tools, into how DoorDash configures, launches, and reads out experiments.
• Evolve the platform to handle new statistical methodologies, machine learning and AI technologies and advanced causal inference and data mining techniques.
