DoorDash is seeking a Staff Applied Scientist to provide scientific leadership for the Experimentation Platform. You will shape statistical, causal inference, ML, and AI capabilities that drive high-quality decisions and actionable insights across the business.

You will work across teams to design experiments, validate results, and build scalable, trustworthy systems. This role blends deep technical work with broad cross-functional influence, mentoring others while delivering impact at scale.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of industry experience or equivalent applied research experience.
• Deep expertise in experimentation and causal inference with production experience.
• Strong coding and data skills with production data pipelines experience.
• Experience translating statistical or ML methods into reliable platform capabilities.
• Track record of setting technical direction and mentoring senior contributors.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Bias for impact balancing rigor, velocity, and user needs.

Responsibilities

• Set the scientific direction for Curie and shape the Decision Systems roadmap with partners.
• Own the statistical contract for experiment analysis and define metrics, covariates, and edge cases.
