Job summary

OPERS, officially The Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer 3 in downtown Columbus. The role centers on designing, building, maintaining, and testing web apps that support internal processes and member services.

You will work with a cross-functional team to implement innovative solutions, leveraging Java, Spring, Angular, and modern CI/CD practices. A competitive compensation package accompanies a robust total rewards program.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of designing and developing web applications.
• At least 2 years of working with Java.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field OR a Bachelor’s degree in any field along with Java-specific training (Candidates without a Bachelor’s degree may be considered if they have an additional 4 years of relevant experience).
• Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and/or Angular preferred but not required.
• Strong knowledge in applying design patterns, test-driven development (TDD), CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Jenkins/GitHub), automated testing, object-oriented design principles, REST API development, and relational database management systems (RDBMS).
• A proven track record of delivering high-quality, reliable solutions.

In this role, you will be a senior member of a team responsible for designing, building, maintaining, enhancing, and testing web applications that drive our internal processes and help service our members, utilizing a variety of technology. You will work closely with our cross-functional teams to design and implement innovative solutions that meet our members' needs and drive our technology stack forward.
