Job summary

OPERS in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a Full Stack Developer 2 for our downtown hybrid team. You will design, build, deploy, and support web applications and services that power internal processes and serve our members.

You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams, apply modern software delivery practices, and rely on Java, REST APIs, relational databases, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines. A Bachelor’s degree or Java training with at least two years of web development experience is required.

Qualifications

• A strong understanding of software development principles and best practices.
• Experience with REST API design and development, relational databases, and automated testing.
• 2+ years designing and developing web applications.
• 2+ years working with Java.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field OR a Bachelor’s degree in any field with Java training (candidates without a degree may be considered with 4+ years of relevant experience).

You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions , automate processes , and improve the reliability and efficiency of our technology platforms. • A passion for delivering high quality work
• A strong understanding of software development principles, automated testing, REST API design and development, relational databases, and modern software delivery practices
• Experience supporting software delivery through source control, CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, or operational support
• At least 2 years of designing and developing web applications
• At least 2 years of working with Java
• A Bachelor’s degree in related field OR a Bachelor’s degree in any field along with Java-specific training (Candidates without a Bachelor’s degree may be considered if they have an additional 4 years of relevant experience)
