Job summary

The Hartford is hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer to join the Data Team within HIMCO IT. You will design, build, and enhance a modern data platform supporting portfolio managers, traders, and analysts with scalable, secure access to data and APIs.

You will work to ingest, transform, orchestrate, and deliver data using AWS, SQL databases, and ETL tools, while applying best practices, CI/CD, and AI-assisted development in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• 3+ years of experience developing systems with .NET, C#.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain a modern enterprise data platform enabling scalable, reliable data access across HIMCO.
• Build and support data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and delivery solutions.
• Develop APIs, services, web applications, and automation to integrate with the data platform ecosystem.
• Collaborate with business partners, data engineers, architects, and application teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Apply software engineering best practices, including object-oriented design, automated testing, CI/CD, cloud technologies, and AI-assisted tools.
• Contribute to architecture decisions and the future direction of HIMCO's data capabilities.
