We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Data Team within HIMCO IT.
This role is critical in partnering with technology and investment professionals to deliver innovative solutions that meet dynamic information and automation needs.
You will build systems & supply data that empower Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Analysts to make informed investment and financial decisions.
As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building HIMCO’s next-generation enterprise data platform, a strategic initiative that will provide a secure, scalable, and AI-ready foundation for data delivery, analytics, reporting, and business operations across the firm.
In this role, you will: Design, develop, and enhance a modern enterprise data platform that enables scalable, reliable, and secure access to data across HIMCO Build and support data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and delivery solutions that power critical business processes and decision-making Develop APIs, services, web applications, and automation solutions that integrate seamlessly with the data platform ecosystem Collaborate with business partners, data engineers, architects, and application development teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions Integrate internal and third-party data sources while ensuring data quality, governance, and operational excellence Apply software engineering best practices, including object-oriented design, automated testing, CI/CD, cloud technologies, and AI-assisted development tools Contribute to architecture decisions and help shape the future direction of HIMCO's data and technology capabilities

This is a Hybrid role. Candidates who live near one of our locations will have the expectation of working in an office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is: $88,000 - $132,000
