Job summary

TouchCare, headquartered in Stamford, CT, is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to lead the rebuild of its tech stack and deliver AI-driven healthcare navigation solutions. You will own end-to-end full-stack development in a HIPAA-compliant setting and collaborate with an external engineering partner to scale our platform for 1.4M+ members.

The role focuses on building autonomous AI agents, internal ticketing, and observability tooling, reporting to the COO and partnering across teams to improve

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of software engineering with production systems.
• Full-stack capability across frontend and backend lifecycle.
• Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI) preferred.
• Healthcare tech, benefits advocacy, or claims data interest.

Responsibilities

• Own full-stack feature development end-to-end: architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and iteration.
• Design and ship production AI agents and workflow automations that our member services and benefits advocacy teams depend on daily.
• Collaborate directly with the COO, operations, and member services teams to understand the healthcare and benefits workflows you’re improving (claims, coverage issues, billing disputes, provider coordination).
• Build in a HIPAA-regulated environment.
• Partner with our external engineering team to maintain and improve existing systems, while helping migrate and streamline the tech stack over time.
