Job summary

Addison Group is partnering with a Sustainable infrastructure company to hire a Staff Accountant for a contract-to-hire role in Washington, DC. The position is in-office 3x per week with a pay range of $32-$36 per hour and conversion salary of $70-$80k, plus benefits and bonuses.

The role requires 2–3 years of accounting experience, month-end close, reconciliations, and strong Excel skills; end-to-end AP/AR experience is essential. You will support reporting and vendor management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Accounting or Business related degree.
• 2–3 years of experience with month end and reconciliations.
• End-to-end full-cycle accounting experience (AP/AR).
• Advanced Excel; there will be an Excel test.

Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle accounting, including journal entries and month-end close.
• Process accounts payable transactions: invoice review, coding, vendor inquiries.
• Manage vendor setup and maintenance, including 1099 compliance.
• Record daily cash transactions and assist with cash reconciliations.
• Prepare AP and AR reconciliations and support financial reporting.
• Build relationships with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Identify improvements to accounting processes and increase efficiency.
