Job summary

Chewy is seeking an Operations Manager for its fulfillment center. This hands-on leader will build relationships with hourly associates, managers, carrier partners, vendors, and other FC teams in a start-up style environment while driving daily improvements.

Responsibilities include leading inbound/outbound activities for two shifts, ensuring safety, achieving KPIs, and mentoring Area Managers. The role emphasizes planning, data-driven decision making, and cross-functional collaboration at Chewy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or comparable experience.
• 5+ years of management in fulfillment/warehouse operations.
• 4+ years in Receiving, Inventory Control, and/or Order Fulfillment.
• 4+ years managing large groups of hourly employees.
• Experience with inventory, order, and warehouse management systems and processes.
• Start-up environment with ambiguity and change.
• Strong project management and continuous improvement skills.
• Metrics-driven, customer-focused, data-informed decisions.
• Willingness to travel and work weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead inbound/outbound activities for the FC across two shifts.
• Ensure a safe work environment for the outbound team.
• Direct warehouse supervisors to meet on-time shipment targets.
• Maintain KPIs: on-time shipments, misses, defects, costs per order.
• Engage Area Managers and Operations Leads.
• Drive planning and forecasting.
• Mentor and develop Area Managers.
• Develop standard processes across shifts.
• Foster a positive, adaptable team culture.
• Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
• Use WMS to optimize order fulfillment and provide insights.
