Job summary

Chewy is seeking an Operations Manager for our fulfillment center in Belton, MO. This hands‑on leader will drive inbound/outbound processes, safety, and continuous improvement while coordinating with Area Managers and cross‑functional teams.

You will optimize order fulfillment, coach hourly associates, and use data to hit KPIs like on‑time shipment and cost per order line. Retail/e‑commerce background preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or comparable experience.
• 5+ years of management experience in fulfillment center/warehouse operations.
• 4+ years of management in receiving, inventory control, or order fulfillment.
• Experience leading large teams of hourly employees.
• Experience with inventory, order, and warehouse management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead inbound/outbound activities across two shifts.
• Ensure healthy and safe working environment for outbound team.
• Direct supervisory personnel to meet on-time shipment and low defects.
• Monitor KPIs: misses, on-time shipments, defects, tasks, productivity, cost per order.
• Engage Area Managers and Operations Leads in planning and improvements.
• Drive planning and forecasting for the FC.
• Share standard processes across shifts and network.
• Mentor and develop Area Managers for progression.
• Foster a positive, change‑oriented team culture focused on customer experience.
• Drive safety, quality, cost, and delivery improvements; expand warehouse capabilities.
• Leverage WMS to optimize order fulfillment and insights.
