Job summary

Plug Power is seeking a Field Service Technician to maintain and service fuel cells at customer sites. The role involves diagnostics, field retrofits, and coordinating with hydrogen suppliers while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

The technician will travel to locations as needed, perform on-call support, and report back with service logs and updates. A valid driver license and the ability to lift 50 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with technical electrical coursework.
• 3+ years direct experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Valid driver license with clean driving record.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly.
• Lift truck knowledge preferred; strong computer skills (Word/PowerPoint/Excel/Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and service of fuel cells at customer sites.
• Diagnostics, troubleshooting, and evaluations to maintain the fleet at a location.
• Field retrofits and software/hardware upgrades to existing fuel cells.
• Provide on-call and emergency support to customers.
• Purchase tools, equipment, and parts for service as required.
• Communicate with customer personnel and hydrogen suppliers; report issues to regional reps.
