Job summary

Universal Health Services' Hickory Trail Hospital in DeSoto, TX seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for day and night shifts in a behavioral health setting. You will lead clinical care on the unit, helping create a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for patients across life stages.

The role requires strong communication, sound judgment, and flexibility to adapt as patient needs change. New grads welcome; weekend and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a psychiatric health‑care facility preferred.
• Licensure: Current license to practice nursing by the Texas State Board of Nursing (or eligible to receive or renew).
• Additional: RN’s may be required to work weekends, overtime and have flexible hours. New Grads welcome!

What You’ll Do - Registered Nurse

As a Registered Nurse at Hickory Trail Hospital, you’ll be an active clinical leader on the unit. This is a hands‑on behavioral health role that calls for sound judgment, strong communication, and the ability to adjust when patient needs change. You’ll care for patients experiencing a range of mental health challenges while helping maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment throughout your shift.
