Job summary

Hickory Trail Hospital in DeSoto, Texas, is seeking PRN Registered Nurses to join a 86-bed behavioral health unit serving children to older adults. You’ll be an active clinical leader on the unit, providing hands-on nursing care and helping maintain a safe, therapeutic environment on every shift.

This role requires graduation from an accredited nursing program, Texas RN licensure (or eligibility), and a minimum of three years in a psychiatric health-care facility.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing.
• Current Texas RN license (or eligible to receive or renew).
• 3 years of experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
• New Grads welcome; weekend/overtime flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Serve as active clinical leader on the unit.

What You’ll Do - Registered Nurse

As a Registered Nurse at Hickory Trail Hospital, you’ll be an active clinical leader on the unit. This is a hands-on behavioral health role that calls for sound judgment, strong communication, and the ability to adjust when patient needs change. You’ll care for patients experiencing a range of mental health challenges while helping maintain a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment throughout your shift.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
• Licensure: Current license to practice nursing by the Texas State Board of Nursing. (or eligible to receive or renew).
• Additional: RN’s may be required to work weekends, overtime and have flexible hours. New Grads welcome!
