Summary:

We are currently hiring for a full-time (8-hour shifts, 32 hours/4 days per week) Pharmacist - IC Pharmacy Operations at our headquarters in Murfreesboro, TN. This position is responsible for preparing and administering appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients, either by executing a physician’s order or by addressing the patient’s problems and needs.

1. Coordinate with medical professionals to facilitate referrals, including direct involvement in clinical management and care of both internal and external customers. Assess the clinical appropriateness of each patient order by conducting drug utilization reviews, evaluating diagnosis, allergies, potential contraindications, and adverse reactions. Assist other clinical staff to ensure the accuracy and consistency of all prescriptions dispensed.
2. Prepare and dispense appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients, either by executing a physician’s order or by addressing the patient’s problems and needs. This may include verbal orders over the phone from physicians and other healthcare providers.
3. Provide oversight of pharmacy technicians during dispensing and assist the pharmacy manager with all pharmacy operations. Offer comprehensive initial consultation and therapy management for complex disease states.
4. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's in pharmacy degree from an accredited university – RPh or DPh required. PharmD preferred. Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in TN required. Must also have an active, unrestricted license in LA and AR, or be eligible for licensure in these states.

Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a pharmacy setting required; specialty or infusion pharmacy experience preferred. Home infusion or hospital IV room experience required for infusion pharmacists. Must have experience in lab assessments and providing dosing recommendations specific to infusion, sterile compounding, specialty medications, side effects, assessments, and therapy management. Experience with pharmacy software, CADD pumps or similar devices, and MS Office is required.
