Summary:

We are currently hiring for a full-time Pharmacist - IC Pharmacy Operations position at our headquarters in Murfreesboro, TN. The role involves 8-hour shifts, totaling 32 hours per week (4 days). This position is responsible for preparing and administering appropriate pharmaceuticals to patients, either by executing a physician’s order or by addressing the patient’s problems and needs.

Responsibilities:

1. Coordinate with medical professionals to facilitate referrals, including direct involvement in clinical management and care of both internal and external customers. Assess clinical appropriateness of each patient order by conducting drug utilization reviews, assessing diagnosis, allergies, potential contraindications, and adverse reactions. Assist other clinical staff to ensure the accuracy and consistency of all prescriptions dispensed.
2. Prepare and dispense pharmaceuticals to patients, either by executing physician’s orders or addressing patient needs, including verbal orders over the phone from healthcare providers.
3. Provide oversight of pharmacy technicians during dispensing and assist the pharmacy manager with all pharmacy operations. Offer comprehensive initial consultation and therapy management for complex disease states.
4. Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in pharmacy from an accredited university – RPh or DPh required; PharmD preferred. Active, unrestricted pharmacist license in TN required. Must also have an active, unrestricted license in LA and AR, or be eligible for licensure in these states.
• Experience: At least 2 years of experience in a pharmacy setting required; specialty or infusion pharmacy experience preferred. Home infusion or hospital IV room experience required for infusion pharmacists. Experience in lab assessments and providing dosing recommendations specific to infusion, sterile compounding, and specialty medications, including managing side effects and therapy assessments. Proficiency with pharmacy software, CADD pumps or similar devices, and MS Office required.
• Functional Competencies: Decision-making, critical thinking, verbal and written communication, teamwork, collaboration, initiative, intermediate math skills (including percentages, ratios, and statistical comparisons), analytical skills, and attention to detail.
