Job summary

Building Connections Academy in Concord, CA is hiring a School-Based Special Education Paraprofessional to provide 1:1 behavioral and academic support to students with autism and other developmental differences in a nurturing, structured classroom.

You will implement individualized programs, collect progress data, teach communication and life skills, and help students build independence, with supervision from BCBA professionals and opportunities for ongoing training and growth.

Qualifications

• RBT certification required or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
• High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's in related field preferred.
• Experience supporting students with autism and developmental differences is a plus.

Join a supportive, mission-driven team at Building Connections Academy (a special education nonpublic school with location in Concord and Martinez, CA), where we help students grow, learn, and build independence.

About The Role

• Hours: In-person, Monday to Friday, 8:30AM to 3:00PM.
• Pay: $22–$28/HR (based on experience, certification, and education).
• Certification: Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) required or willingness to become certified within 90 days (paid training included!).

As a School-Based Special Education Paraprofessional, you’ll provide 1:1 behavioral and academic support to students with autism and other developmental differences. You’ll help students develop communication, social, and life skills while fostering a safe, supportive, and fun learning environment.

What We’re Looking For

• Passion for working with children and helping them succeed.
• RBT certification (or willing to obtain within 90 days).
• High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s in related field preferred).
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and auto insurance.
• Required immunizations including MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis), Varicella (Chicken Pox), Hep B, and TB clearance (within 4 years).
