Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside is seeking a Patient Care Associate for the Med/Surg unit. The role supports the registered nurse in patient care activities, including ADLs, vital signs, specimen collection, and safety initiatives.

The candidate should have a High School Diploma or equivalent and a Medical Assistant/Patient Care Assistant certificate with venipuncture and EKG skills. BLS/ Heartsaver certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Certificate or completion of a Medical Assistant/Patient Care Assistant program with skills in venipuncture and EKG.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
• Prioritize tasks and problem solve in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living and basic care.
• Support RN in patient care activities and safety.
• Take and record vital signs and basic measurements.
• Assist with transport of patients and supply coordination.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and functional clinical environment.
