Creative Dining Services is hiring a line cook at Missouri Baptist University in Saint Louis, MO. The role supports serving students with fresh, high-quality meals on a campus that operates seven days a week.

The team emphasizes safety, efficiency, and food quality in a fast-paced dining environment. Applicants should have at least 2 years of cooking experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and be capable of multi-tasking under pressure while maintaining schedule reliability.

Mansioni

• Prepare food items per recipes and menus while maintaining freshness, quality, and appeal
• Use batch cooking to control production levels
• Maintain logs for food temps, cooling temps, and cold storage temps
• Monitor kitchen equipment and report issues to supervisor
• Open/close the kitchen as needed, secure areas and operate equipment
• Hold food at safe temperatures (cold <40°F, hot >135°F)
• Label and date stored items and communicate needs to supervisor

Salary Range: $19.00 To $23.00 Hourly

Do you like to be creative and work in an inclusive, professional environment? If so, join the Creative Dining team at Missouri Baptist University.

We are looking for friendly, experienced food service professionals to complete our line cook team, serving great food to hungry students using state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Our staff enjoy paid holidays, opportunities for training and advancement and time off between semesters to spend with family and friends during the winter holidays, and much more.

Availability:full time (30+ hours/week), with flexible schedules available. We do serve meals 7-days a week on the college campus, so some evenings and weekend brunch shifts will be required.

Core Responsibilities:

• Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner in which preserves food freshness, quality and appeal
• Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over- or under-production
• Maintain established logs (food temperatures, cooling temperatures, cooler & freezer temperatures, etc.)
• Monitor kitchen equipment for proper functioning; report any discrepancies to supervisor immediately
• If work shift requires, properly open and/or close the kitchen – unlocking/locking doors & secured areas, and turning on/turning off of all equipment essential to the operation
• Hold prepared food items at appropriate temperatures (below 40° if cold, above 135° if hot)
• Store food items according to established standards of practice; utilize proper labeling and dating
• Communicate needs and concerns regarding food production and kitchen operation to supervisor appropriately, and in a timely manner

Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Minimum of 2 years cooking experience
