Creative Dining Services is seeking a skilled line cook to join the Missouri Baptist University dining team in Saint Louis, MO. The role involves preparing items per recipes, using batch cooking to manage output, and maintaining logs and temperatures to ensure safety and quality.

• Prepare food items according to established recipes and menus in a manner that preserves food freshness, quality and appeal.
• Utilize batch cooking techniques to avoid over- or under-production
• Maintain established logs (food temperatures, cooling temperatures, cooler & freezer temperatures, etc.)
• Monitor kitchen equipment for proper functioning; report any discrepancies to supervisor immediately
• If work shift requires, properly open and/or close the kitchen - unlocking/locking doors & secured areas, and turning on/turning off of all equipment essential to the operation
• Hold prepared food items at appropriate temperatures (below 40° if cold, above 135° if hot)
• Store food items according to established standards of practice; utilize proper labeling and dating
• Communicate needs and concerns regarding food production and kitchen operation to supervisor appropriately, and in a timely manner

We are looking for friendly, experienced food service professionals to complete our line cook team, serving great food to hungry students using state-of-the-art equipment and technology. Our staff enjoy paid holidays, opportunities for training and advancement and time off between semesters to spend with family and friends during the winter holidays, and much more.

Availability:

full time (30+ hours/week), with flexible schedules available. We do serve meals 7-days a week on the college campus, so some evenings and weekend brunch shifts will be required.
