Job summary

Friendship Centers of Emmet County, Inc. is seeking a Bus Driver to join the Transportation Department. You will drive a 15-passenger, lift-equipped bus on scheduled routes, assist riders, and ensure safe, welcoming service.

The role requires a Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement (or ability to obtain one) and a high school diploma. You will follow instructions, maintain safety, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed while providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Class B CDL with Passenger endorsement or ability to obtain and maintain one.
• High school diploma.
• Strong customer service skills and a patient, professional approach.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to meet background check, medical, and drug/alcohol testing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Drive a 15-passenger, lift-equipped bus on scheduled routes.
• Help passengers board and exit, operate the lift, and secure mobility equipment.
• Adjust driving to road, traffic, and weather conditions.
• Communicate with dispatch and complete vehicle inspections, trip records, and fare records.
• Keep vehicle clean and welcoming.
• Carry groceries or packages to a client’s door when needed.
• Train to serve as a backup Meals on Wheels driver and dispatcher.
