Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a dedicated Bus Route Driver in Hutchinson, KS for a part-time role to transport students along designated routes, ensuring safety, comfort and timely arrivals.

You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, assist students including those with disabilities, and maintain records. A CDL with passenger endorsement, a high school diploma, and at least 2 years of driving experience are required; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

• Ensure the safety and comfort of all students by conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintaining the vehicle in good working condition.
• Assist students with boarding and disembarking, including those with disabilities or special needs.
• Maintain accurate records of student counts and any incidents that occur during the route.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding route changes, delays, or emergencies.
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures, to ensure the safety of students and the public.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing passenger inquiries and concerns in a professional manner.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bus interior and exterior.
• Participate in ongoing training and development programs to enhance driving skills and safety awareness.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
• Minimum of 2 years of driving experience, preferably in a bus or large vehicle.
