Job summary

Baltimore City Public Schools in Keokuk, IA is seeking a dependable bus driver to transport students and staff along assigned routes, ensuring safe and timely service.

Responsibilities include pre- and post-trip inspections, maintaining vehicle cleanliness, and assisting passengers. A valid CDL B is preferred with a clean driving record, and background/drug checks may be required. Work is typically on-site with weekday schedules.

• Safely operate a bus or passenger vehicle to transport passengers to destinations.
• Follow designated routes and schedules for timely pick-up and drop-off.
• Assist passengers with boarding, securing belongings, and answering questions.
• Communicate effectively with passengers and staff with clear instructions.
• Adhere to traffic laws and regulations to ensure safety.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure proper working condition.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bus interior and sanitize regularly.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a bus or other passenger vehicle to transport passengers to their destinations
• Follow designated routes and schedules to ensure timely pick-up and drop-off of passengers
• Provide excellent customer service by assisting passengers with boarding, securing belongings, and answering questions
• Communicate effectively with passengers, providing clear instructions and information
• Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations to ensure the safety of passengers and other road users
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in proper working condition
• Maintain cleanliness of the bus interior, including regular cleaning and sanitizing

Experience:

• Previous experience as a bus driver, delivery driver, shuttle driver, van driver, or limousine driver is preferred
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with passengers
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
