Job summary

Canteen, a member of Compass Group USA, is seeking a Receiving Supervisor in Chicago, IL. The role leads inbound receiving, coordinates the distribution team, and ensures quality, safety, and timely delivery across the operation.

The position requires 3-5 years of leadership in high-volume receiving and strong communication skills. Familiarity with Google Workspace and Excel is preferred; forklift certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of leadership experience in high-volume receiving.
• Fresh produce or perishable goods experience preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership, organization and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inbound freight in accordance with SOPs and food safety requirements.
• Serve as the facility's fruit quality expert and ensure product quality.
• Manage the ripening program and inventory rotation; maintain FIFO.
• Train staff on food safety and GMPs; support audits and compliance.
• Lead hiring, scheduling, and performance discussions with the Operations Manager.
