Job summary

Canteen is seeking a Receiving Supervisor to lead inbound receiving operations, manage our distribution team, and drive performance to meet quality and delivery commitments. You will oversee vendor relations, inventory controls, and food-safety practices in a high-volume environment.

The role requires leadership experience in receiving, strong communication, and hands-on knowledge of safety and GMP standards.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of leadership experience in high-volume receiving required; fresh produce or perishable goods experience preferred.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and basic Excel required; ERP/NetSuite experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise inbound freight in compliance with SOPs, food safety requirements, GMPs, and organic standards.
• Serve as the facility's fruit quality expert, ensuring all products meet company and customer expectations.
• Manage the ripening program and monitor product readiness.
• Evaluate, document, and track product quality using company systems and equipment.
• Conduct quality inspections, taste testing, and seasonal quality assessments.
• Oversee inventory, supply management, cooler organization, and FIFO rotation.
• Maintain vendor relationships and ensure effective communication regarding quality standards.
• Manage donation processes, receiving records, and data entry.
• Train and coach employees on food safety, GMPs, and organic requirements.
• Conduct audits, maintain records, and support facility audit readiness.
• Verify supplier, transportation, temperature, sanitation, and compliance standards.
• Ensure equipment, facilities, and contracted services meet food safety requirements.
• Execute sanitation programs and maintain department cleanliness.
• Support maintenance activities while preserving food safety compliance.
