Job description

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Achieve sales and profit goals established for the department, and monitor and control all established quality assurance standards. Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the department. Support the day-to-day functions of the Frozen Foods operations. Minimum Qualifications
  • Effective communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction)
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school education or equivalent
  • Management experience
  • Retail experience
  • Second language skills (speaking, reading, and/or writing)
Key Responsibilities
  1. Promote trust and respect among associates.
  2. Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates.
  3. Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to achieve company/store goals.
  4. Establish performance goals for the department and empower associates to meet or exceed targets.
  5. Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume during hours of operation.
  6. Train and develop associates on their job performance and participate in performance appraisals.
  7. Adhere to all local, state, federal laws, and company guidelines.
  8. Create an environment where customers feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products.
  9. Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to customer inquiries with suggestions.
  10. Display a positive attitude.
  11. Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
  12. Understand the store layout and locate products efficiently.
  13. Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
  14. Inform and educate associates about current and upcoming promotions, especially those affecting frozen foods.
  15. Prepare seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
  16. Stay current with store ads and promotions.
  17. Assist in preparing the store/department budget and financial reviews, taking appropriate actions on financial reports.
  18. Monitor inventory and stocking conditions, noting discrepancies.
  19. Update shelf tags and promotional signs regularly.
  20. Plan, organize, and supervise inventory processes.
  21. Train associates on inventory management and Computer Assisted Ordering.
  22. Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
  23. Report safety risks, issues, and illegal activities such as theft or fraud.
  24. Perform essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
