Job summary

The U.S. Army General Surgeon position invites you to combine expert patient care with service. You will examine, diagnose, consult, and perform surgeries for Soldiers, retirees and their families, while contributing to surgical innovations and planning.

As part of the Army Medical Team, you will participate in continued education programs, trainings, and conferences to learn, grow, and collaborate with fellow surgeons for the benefit of patients and the Army as a whole.

Qualifications

• Must hold Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree from an accredited US medical school.
• Must be eligible for board certification in general surgery.
• Must have completed a residency in general surgery and a current medical license.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, consult, and prescribe treatments.
• Perform surgical procedures for Soldiers, retirees, and their families.
• Engage in continued education and training to advance medical practice.
