Job summary

U.S. Army General Surgeons lead a world-class military health care team, combining patient care with service. Surgeons will diagnose, consult, and perform surgeries for Soldiers, retirees and their families, while advancing medical innovations within the Army Medical Department.

Opportunities include ongoing education, trainings, and collaboration with fellow surgeons to improve patient outcomes and Army readiness, with service possible in active duty or Army Reserve roles.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited U.S. medical school.
• Permanent US residency or citizenship for Army Reserve eligibility.
• Must have completed GME internship and a general surgery training program.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, consult, and prescribe treatments.
• Perform surgeries for Soldiers, retirees and their families.
• Engage in continued education, trainings, and leadership development.
